We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you (i.e., the information required of you in order to become a Registered User). We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. We store your registration information. Your email address and password are encrypted.
We will use your information to respond to you if you contact us, for the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to post a comment on the Service with your real name attached.
Anything you do, post, and share using the Service may be seen by other users. Therefore, you do not have a reasonable expectation to privacy when using the Service. In addition, while we strive to ensure privacy and security of your information shared as you use the Service, we cannot guarantee it. The Service is designed to allow you to share information, cases and comments with other users. We may store the information that you post on the Service together with your personal information. We may process your personal information in order to post or deliver messages to or from you using the Service.
You agree not to post any individually identifiable health information on the Service and to anonymize images or other patient information that you may post.
We may disclose your personal information (a) as may be required by law; (b) when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request; and (c) to our service providers, subject to reasonable privacy protections, as needed for them to assist us in operating the Service and providing related services (e.g., sending emails). We will notify you of any change in ownership as well as any related choices you may have regarding the disposition of your personal information.
2. Your Access to and Control Over Information
You agree to maintain your password in a secure manner, not to let any other person use your email or username, and password, to use the Service, and to notify us of any unauthorized use or other breach of your password or other personal information. You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for any and all claims, losses, or damages incurred or suffered as a result of activities using your personal information (e.g., email address, user name and/or password).
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the Service or our email address given on the Service: (a) see what data we have about you, if any; (b) change/correct any data we have about you; (c) have us delete any data we have about you; and (d) express any concern you have about our use of your data.
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Service, your information is protected both online and offline.
We do not collect sensitive information other than anonymized health information posted by users of the Service. Only individuals who need information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.
We request information from you in the course of your registration and use of the Service. To use the Service, you must provide contact information (e.g., name and email address). If we have trouble with posting materials on your behalf, we will use this information to contact you.
We do not collect precise location information from the devices you use to access the Service.
The Service contains links to other services and/or websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other services and/or websites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the Service and to read the privacy statements of any other service or website that collects personally identifiable information.
5. Opt out
You can stop all collection of information by the Service by deleting your account. You can also stop all collection of information by the Service’s mobile application by using the standard uninstall processes that may be available on your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network. If you delete your account, we will delete all of your images and comments as well. In addition, your information may remain in our archives even after it is deleted from the active version of the Service.
6. Notice to Residents of California
California law permits customers in California to request certain details about how their information is shared with third parties and, in some cases, affiliates, for those third parties' and affiliates' own direct marketing purposes. Under the law, a business must either provide this information or permit California customers to opt in to, or opt out of, this type of sharing. We may from time to time elect to share certain information you collected by us on the Service with third parties or affiliates for those third parties' or affiliates' own direct marketing purposes.
If you are a resident of California, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to opt out and/or request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by us to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. This Policy applies only to their activities within the State of California. Any such request must include "California Privacy Rights Request" in the first line of the request and include your name, street, address, city, state, and ZIP code. Please note that we are only required to respond to one request per customer each year, and we are not required to respond to requests made by means other than through this email address or mail address. California residents are also entitled to contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (916) 445-1254 or (800) 952-5210 for suspected violations and to learn more about their rights.
If you use the Service to invite colleagues to use the Service or to share cases with a colleague, you must first have their consent to use their email address for this purpose. Company relies on your obtaining that consent.
For purposes of operating the Service, we may transfer your personal information to servers located in the United States or in other countries which provide for a different level of data protection. By using and continuing to use the Service, you agree to that transfer.
The personal information we hold is used solely for the purposes of operating the Service and communicating with you. We will not provide personal information, unless anonymized and aggregated, to any third parties, other than service providers acting on our behalf to assist in running the Service. The information we request from you is mandatory unless indicated otherwise and is necessary to enable Company to provide you with the Service. You are also entitled to object to any processing of your personal data on reasonable grounds.
